AM Car Cleaning Services' Logo & Site
Aiden had developed a car detailing serivce and came to me for a website initially, by the end of the project it was just a logo unfortunately but he is more than happy with what I came up for him. His girlfriend had created the previous logo in Canva but the site required something vectorised and I took it upon myself to suggest a new logo while we're at it. He accepted and I created the below logos, centering around the sparkle which I thought could represent the glistening sun off a clean car's paintwork. I started out trying to incorporate soap suds and bubbles but couldn't come up with a working concept. The result in a professional and approachable logo that scales well across branding, social media and uniforms.
This was my first time using both Figma (Adobe XD was discontinued) and Wix Studio. Figma is quite similar to XD but I had to learn a few different tools to create the mockup successfully. Wix Studio is a big step up from the regular designer but still with some frustrating limitations. The custom CSS for example, it will let you add basic classes and properties but anything that risks breaking the site is locked out, which isn't helpful if you know what you're doing! The usual workaround still works though fortunately. There's still no built in flexbox support from what I could tell, everything was using CSS grid which didn't help me as I used flex for the mockup! There's also a Figma plugin that allows you to import the site into Wix Studio, this works about as well as you'd expect but it was somewhat helpful.
Enzo Kleanz' Site Refresh
A friend of mine recently started a window cleaning business in Lincoln and hired me to give his website a needed spruce up, keeping it on theme with the colours of his logo and playing on the water cliche I helped him create a modern, responsive site with a gallery to showcase his work. I thought I would assist him with SEO a little too so made sure all the basic best practices were in place so he is visible to customers, although creating a business listing on Google maps would go that extra step.
As with a lot of my clients, they don't have a vectorised version of their logo, so this is often my first step before starting work on the site; this ensures I can position and scale the logo exactly how I need it and maintain accuracy in colour and clarity.
Jacana Window Cleaning's Logo
Renton needed a logo for his window cleaning business and had asked me to create one based around an aquatic bird called the Jacana. Honestly, this did prove quite a challenge we were both very happy with the end result. It's playful but has a strong identity, he's since had it embroidered on a jacket and it looks great!
Lucy Bowen Photography's Website
Another client using Wix and my first photographer! I very much enjoyed working with Lucy to tailor this project to her needs, just a shame it took me so long because of exams interrupting everything. It is important that such a site bring out the photographer's style and personality - Lucy prefers a natural style so I based my colour palette on beige and olive green with pastel accent colours. I am very happy with how it came out in the end, there are a lot of nice details and animations especially evident on desktop.
I always discover more and more bugs when using Wix, random elements resizing themselves each time I edit a different page, watching elements shrink in realtime when I move a border and many more little issues here which link to forum articles from years ago that still haven't been fixed a long time ago. Wix also still uses pixel values only (versus % values), so creating a responsive site can be difficult without painful workarounds. Besides this though, Wix is a fanastic CMS when it comes to the client using it in the future, it is easy to add extra features and can act as basic accounting software - including a CRM! This makes it especially useful for small businesses.
RJ Beauty Therapist's Logo

A Gale Tiling's Website
Ash gave me free rein over the design of his site and ended up choosing WordPress for his CMS. His old logo was looking a little dated, especially for web use so I did a quick refresh for him.
I decided to use Elementor for the first time and really enjoyed designing with it. The flexbox controls are intuitive and I could accomplish everything I wanted with custom HTML, CSS and JS features (e.g. shrinking header).
I also wanted to experiment with a modern and frequently used layout of hero text next to a large graphic. The triangle in the background adds, drawing the user's eyes down towards the gallery and I particularly like my inclusion of the logo within the tiling images.
Hot Beans Website & Logo | A-Level Project
Hot Beans is the name of a mock web development company used for the A-Level IT course this year. The name does not fit the business at all, it sounds more like a cafe, but at least it gives students like me an idea of where to go with the design.
We were tasked with designing the logo and website - including all page content, with the general requirements stated in the brief. Everyone had to create a site from scratch with HTML, CSS and JS using Adobe Dreamweaver. I had a backbone from my WIP business site which helped save some time and now elements from this site can be used in my own website. I used modal pop-ups for the first time, included a shrinking header, used true parallax, made it responsive using flexbox and of course had to include some glassmorphism somewhere - although a lot less than my alternate design!
JW Joinery & Kitchens' Website
I have enjoyed working alongside Jorge to create a website that meets his needs and will bring him more business in the future.
Jorge was my second client to have chosen Wix - it combines value with ease of editing after I have completed the project. I usually prefer a more hands-on, codelike experience but these tools speed up development enough for me to put up with their shortcomings. I also played around with ChatGPT and found it extremely helpful for generating text during the mockup phase and SEO.
Rob Yoxall Window & Door Installations' Van Livery & Logo
My first piece of professional logo and graphic design work saw me having to create a van livery as well.
I worked closely alongside Rob to tailor the final product to his every need. Livery design was new to me but he and I were pleased with the outcome.
After Cancer's Website
Verite was lovely to work with and asked me to finish the work her previous designer had started in WordPress.
I completed the site based on the previous person's style and improved SEO and security along the way.
I continue to provide regular maintenance for her site and have since integrated sponsored links for recommened products.
Polio Survivors Network's Website
My first official project was working with Lincolnshire's Polio Survivors Network charity. I thoroughly enjoyed working with them and they loved the final product.
PSN wanted a total redesign of their old website using their existing CMS with a responsive layout and provisions for adding posts.
